About Me

My name is Emily Matter and I’d like to style myself as a publication designer– but if that sounds too specialized for you, you can just call me a graphic designer. I roost in Trenton, Missouri, which is about two hours away from Kansas City. I love making physical layouts and spreads -- a lot of my past work is with magazines, booklets, and other publications. My core focus as a designer is getting text and images to work together in harmony.

Right now, I'm the Marketing and Interlibrary Loan Librarian for North Central Missouri College, where I work to create library events and advertisements in addition to all of the classic librarian tasks.

I’ve previously worked with organizations like KMOS-PBS, where I served as a Student Promotions Assistant, and Arcade Literary Magazine, where I served as a layout co-editor. I have also served as the vice president of my university’s chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, where we coordinated weekly programming & events for our chapter.
